Beyond the Walls, Someone Cares.
At Pathways to Work & Housing Resources, Inc., we believe that no young person should feel forgotten, abandoned, or without hope simply because they are incarcerated.
For young people residing in juvenile justice institutions and correctional facilities, the absence of family support, personal connections, and encouragement can make an already difficult experience even more challenging.
Some young people may have limited contact with loved ones, receive few or no visits, or lack access to the personal support that others may receive from their families.
Our You Are Not Forgotten Youth Care & Compassion Initiative was created with one simple message: You matter. You are valued. You are not forgotten.
Our mission is to bring hope, compassion, encouragement, and meaningful support to incarcerated youth and young adults, particularly those who have limited or no family involvement.
Through community partnerships, facility-approved care packages, essential personal items, and positive messages, we aim to remind young people that their current circumstances do not determine their worth or their potential for a brighter future.
We believe that small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in someone's life.
The initiative is designed to support:
Youth residing in juvenile detention and placement facilities.
Young adults incarcerated in correctional institutions.
Young people with limited or no family involvement.
Youth who rarely or never receive visits, letters, or personal support.
Young people who may benefit from additional encouragement and positive community connections.
Participation and distribution will be coordinated with participating facilities and their authorized staff.
Care & Comfort Packages
We hope to provide approved personal care packages containing essential items such as hygiene products, socks, stationery, and other necessities permitted by participating facilities.
Birthday & Holiday Recognition
For young people who may not receive gifts or recognition from family members, we hope to provide approved birthday and holiday packages that remind them someone is thinking of them.
Letters of Hope & Encouragement
Positive messages, inspirational notes, and words of encouragement can remind young people that they have value, potential, and opportunities for personal growth.
All correspondence will be subject to facility policies and approval.
Community Support & Partnerships
We seek to develop relationships with correctional institutions, juvenile justice facilities, businesses, community organizations, and individuals interested in supporting the initiative.
You do not have to know a young person personally to make a positive difference in their life.
Through donations, approved supplies, sponsorships, and community partnerships, supporters can help us bring comfort and encouragement to young people who may otherwise feel forgotten.
As the initiative develops and facility arrangements are approved, we hope to offer opportunities for individuals, businesses, and organizations to contribute.
Ways to Support Our Mission
Contribute toward approved care packages and essential items.
Donate facility-permitted supplies when requested.
Support birthday and holiday recognition efforts.
Become a community or organizational partner.
Help raise awareness about young people without family support.
All care packages, donated items, correspondence, and distributions are subject to the policies, restrictions, and prior authorization of participating correctional and juvenile justice facilities. Program activities depend on available resources and approved partnerships.
Every young person has a story.
Every young person deserves dignity.
Every young person deserves encouragement.
And every young person deserves to know that someone believes in their ability to grow, change, and move forward.
Being incarcerated does not mean being forgotten.
